CIArb Canada is piloting a New Arbitrator Program for Fellows of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb). The Program is an unpaid learning opportunity designed to provide practical experience to newly-qualified arbitrators. For more information about the program, please click here.

CIArb Canada recognizes that many recently-qualified arbitrators find it difficult to obtain appointments because they lack actual experience as an arbitrator. The New Arbitrator Program aims to bridge the gap between being qualified as an arbitrator and becoming an experienced practitioner eligible to be on a roster of an arbitral institution. The Program offers two models. In both models, new arbitrators are appointed to decide commercial disputes between parties that have chosen arbitration as their dispute resolution process. The Program operates across Canada.

The New Arbitrator Program is accepting applications now. Please click here to find out more details about how to apply.

Please also join us for the formal launch of the program including a Q and A session at the CIArb 9th Annual Symposium, which will take place on September 20, 2021 from 3:30 – 6:00 pm EST.
